Yeah, I went to Pictured Rocks a few years ago, it was beautiful.

Well the vacation is more than half over and it has been lots of fun so far. The little one was remarkably good on the flight over. He would stretch out in his sleep in the bassinet and his legs ended up hanging out of the bassinet, it looked very cute.

Finds of the trip so far have been

San Pedro Aquarium, the building and feel of the place are low budget, but the exhibits (all creatures found off shore in the area) are fantastic, and it was only about $5 to get in. Strongly recommend it over the bigger aquariums.

The drive up the 1 is not as forested as I remember, clearly my time in Big Sur, 20 odd years ago, distorted my view of the road. It is still a gorgeous drive.

JDC you suggested getting seafood in Carmel by the sea instead of SF, unfortunately we did not gauge the times well and could only drive past Carmel and Monterey, then did not have seafood in SF. My wife and I did get an evening meal together in SF (left the little one with the grandparents), went to the Greens restaurant in Fort Mason a good meal in a lovely location, watched the sunsetting over the Goldern Gate Bridge from our table.

Disneyland tomorrow will have to wait and see how Tait copes.

trying to finalize a vacation in Nov but a bit worried about flights.  Should start in German to Amsterdam and then to Chicago and finally  North Carolina for Thanksgiviing.

I am surprised you are not going to Dulles instead of Chicago, it would save several hours of flying time, or do you have a stop over in Chicago?

Back from LA now and what a flight, over a hour trying to calm a screaming baby while the rest of the plane was trying to sleep. Many people were quite simpathetic, others did not look happy, and I fully understand that.

Still it was a good trip, but it will be a long time before we go again.

I feel your pain Dave. :( When it happened to me, I felt like I owed everyone a refund.

Still I'm glad it was a good trip and time and distance will give you a story to laugh about (later, much later).
