Wonderful photos Sandy.

Cedar Breaks looks a lot like Bryce Canyon, is it in the same area?

Thanks :) They are about an hour's drive from each other, 50 miles or so. Cedar Breaks is the mini version of Bryce Canyon.

Looks great!
Sandy, what are the temperatures like there?

Cedar Breaks' elevation is around 10,000 feet and Pioneer Park's (in St. George) is around 3,000 and further south, so the temperatures differ a lot. When I was there, it was 65 degrees in Cedar Breaks and over 100 in St. George. That's why we waited to almost sunset, to explore there. Much cooler in the shade!

Sorry, working in Fahrenheit.

Love the pics, Sandy,  and love southern Utah.  Still a dream of mine to do Antelope Canyon hike which might be Arizona but is still the same geological era.

Oh! I'd love to go to Antelope Canyon! Last time I drove through the area, I realized it was nearby, but couldn't get a reservation that quickly. The Navajo Nation has a tight control over it, which is good because of flash flood possibilities and they can protect it from vandalism.

It misses being in Utah by 15 miles. :)

We've been in Page AZ twice and saw both times the truckloads of young people leaving early for the experience of Antelope.   Looked like a lot of fun to go along. One of those once in a lifetime experiences. ..

I leave for LA tomorrow! But I have a very important question for you:

I have a small, fold up umbrella that easily fits in my backpack. Is it worth bringing it with me? I assume I will probably not need it for LA, and the forecast says likely not for NY and SF, but...

It does rain out here, just not very often and even when it does, it's rarely the kind of rain that makes you run for shelter.

However, if it does downpour while you are out here I will know that you didn't pack your umbrella.
