there is a historic house down the road from where I grew up called Gittings Ha Ha, but not a town. Although I can't say much, there were towns names Unity and Sunshine

1SO, us newbies thank you for your welcome.  You old guys are pretty cool too!  Before we got here, the forum was already established as a welcoming place for people to say smart things about movies.  Thanks to all of you regulars before 2009 to make this a place where we love to come!

hee, hee I got to call someone else old!

Clovis, that post was wonderful.  I had thought about doing the same thing, but I feared missing anyone.  You took the plunge, and it was great!  What other forum has a value of complimenting it's regulars?  How great is that?!!!?

I'm all for the idea of getting together.  We could plan a marathon of Filmspotting 100s and we can make our own commentary!  We just tape ourselves watching the movie, akin to Mystery Science Theater 3000, except much, much cooler.  Let's see, we should pick at least one Charlie Kaufman, one Paul Thomas Anderson, one Miyazaki and one Wong Kar-Wai.  FLY can choose a Disney for us to sleep through.

But it's hard to choose between Perth, LA and Saltine's house.  I've always wanted to visit Perth and I think the Australian crew would be wonderful hosts.  LA is pretty convenient for me, and we could all crash at my parent's place in Lake Arrowhead.  They've got this awesome huge TV with great sound.  They use it to watch Bones and football.  It's such a waste.  Saltine's house, though-- wow, that's just beautiful.  And it's the closest to my dwelling.  All so cool.

My compliment for the day:
UGG needs to post much more, because I quite like her. And I think everyone else agrees.
Yes, UGG is awesome. Need more UGG!
I agree that you like her. You're no liar.
UberGeekyGirl made a strong impact in a short amount of time.
I told her about your sweet words (except for what you said, smirnoff - you're a dick! ;) ). She asked me to thank you guys and to tell you she'll be back soon. She's crazy busy with school, buying a house, trying not to freeze to death because the heater won't work properly, getting a water leak fixed, being patient for escrow to start, etc. There was more stuff but I wasn't listening - oh well.

On a personal matter ...
And I really enjoy Dr. Kimble.
Thank you, I like you too.

I really hope she does too. It's an odyssey that's been going on since June or July. She could really use a break from all the madness.

That's funny. I find a lot of American towns and counties and such have strange names. And both countries have them from similar sources. Either British, French or Native.
