smirnoff: You always manage to make me laugh, which is not that hard to do really, but my real life conversations are sorely lacking in context-appropriate gifs. Keep up the good work.

The Admins: Thank you for all your work and for taking care of this forum - even though I know you're really all fragments of saltine's psyche, which got fractured when a kangaroo hit her with an alligator on the head some years ago. You're pretty alright for fictional people.

I'd be happy with being part of saltine's psyche, if only for the world traveling and wine alone!

Thanks, DH.

 :)

Wine and travel, I'm very lucky in that way, for sure.

DH, all the mods and admin are real people and do all the heavy lifting around here, believe me.

Yes! Thank-you, mods. You're the best.

Also, shout-out to sdb for his kindness and generosity in loaning me his Blu-ray Hitchcock collection this summer - and letting me keep it through the present, while I've prepped for and now begin this Hitchcock class I'm teaching. While I would have loved to buy every Hitch available, I'm, of course, on a budget, and sdb's loan freed me up to buy the books I've needed for research and such.

Matty once, on the podcast years ago, mockingly referred to the forum as a group of "imaginary friends" (happily, he later re-canted such a silly statement), but we all know - and knew then - that that couldn't be further from the truth. Nothing imaginary about you good people, and if the podcast was nicknamed a "force for good in the universe," the forum is, at minimum, that, too. I love the thought that a group of college students (24, at my last count, are registered) are going to benefit from a Filmspotting forum friendship, watching screenings of Hitchcock films by way of one of those friendships.

Happy New Year to all of you, and thanks - for everything.  I hope I am able to be around a bit more in 2017.

When does the thread on this begin? :)

Ha, would love it if Filmspotters would watch along with me/us! Pretty sure I won't have time to do any significant writing besides teaching-related stuff though this quarter. But here's the screening schedule if you're interested. :) (And if anybody wants to link me to their reviews of any of these, I'd love that!)

The Lodger - 1/9
Blackmail - 1/11
39 Steps - 1/18
Rebecca - 1/25
Shadow of a Doubt - 1/30
Notorious - 2/1
Rope - 2/6
Strangers on a Train - 2/8
Rear Window - 2/22
Vertigo - 3/1
North by Northwest - 3/6
Psycho - 3/8
The Birds - 3/15
