2007 had two films, There Will Be Blood and I'm Not There, that stand leagues above anything else released that year, in 2008 no films rival those two, but as far as overall quality there are more consistent films, high B low A range, than in 2007.

This is clearly a situation where you can't outright say one year is weaker than another (something I don't get the point in doing anyways). There's no way to objectively say one year is the best. So let's just stop stating things like this as if they were a well accepted fact.

Catching up on this thread made me even more depressed than missing the chat. Not sure I can bring myself to even read the 10 pages in the official winners thread.
