The 400 Blows is one of the best films of all time. Most people will vote for it.

However, I'm tossing my vote to Small Change because it's just as lovable.

SHOOT THE PIANO PLAYER, one of my favorite films, then JULES AND JIM and 400 BLOWS. Probably no other director dropped off as dramatically after one of the best starts. I do kinda like TWO ENGLISH GIRLS though.

I've only seen 2 films and 2 shorts of his.  The 400 Blows & Jules & Jim.

I'm going to go with The 400 Blows.

Kind of cheated.  400 Blows is probably the Best, but I had to throw my love to Day For Night which I've watched many, many times.  I love showing people that one.

I really disagree. Day For Night, Small Change, The Wild Child and the Antoine Doinel series are really great. I even really enjoy Fahrenheit 451.

Do you have further thoughts on Jules and Jim? I'm rewatching it because it doesn't rate as a classic for me either, though it's considered a seminal film of European cinema.
