I saw it on the big screen last year and had a great time. Though I was a little less enamored with the "assembling a team" half than I was the first time I saw it. But, yeah, the second half is marvelous.

Ask and you shall receive.   ;)

Done.
Kevin: Yes, why does there have to be evil?

Supreme Being: I think it has something to do with free will.

Verna: I suppose you think you raised hell.

Tom: Sister, when I've raised hell you'll know it.

Kagemusha is the only other Kurosawa that I am interested in seeing at the moment.

8. Sanjûrô
15. Yojimbo

 ???

I'm fine with this being seen as an unpopular opinion, but Yojimbo is flimsy material, not much more than the Sanshiro Sugata films. It's well-paced and entertaining but possibly the most formulaic film Kurosawa's ever made. Also, remember you're talking to #1 Sergio Leone fan and I watched Fistful of Dollars first. Does this mean I'm saying Eastwood is better than Mifune? With great hesitation... yes. Plus Gian Maria Volonté has endless charisma. Sanjûrô is even bigger in the fun department and I like the Seven Dwarfs aspect of the outclassed junior samurai.

I watched Yojimbo and then Fistful one after the other. No comparison. Yojimbo is a tough taut thriller, Fistful is a pale copy with merit only in that which it spawned. . You seem to like noir from your marathon. No idea why you don't see Yojimbo in that light.

I haven't watched Yojimbo since my recent noir binge.
