Quote
Roeper said he intends to "proceed elsewhere ... as the co-host of a movie review show that honors the standards established by Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert more than 30 years ago."
Anyone care to spot the irony?

I think what he meant was that due in part to Disney, At the Movies had lost that standard. Roeper will be going off on an Indiana Jones style adventure to search for said lost standard.

Yeah, sure. He's probably refering to that whole "thumbs up"-disaster.
The thing is that there's just no way he can live up to said standards, no matter where he goes. That being said, from what I've seen on the online archive, Siskel wasn't that much better.

I don't know. I agree with Tequila. The show was clearly always too over-produced. I think the only time a show has been able to live up the the Siskel & Ebert standard has been Cinecast/Filmspotting.

Joss Whedon Talks About His "Sexy, Strange" Dollhouse

Favorite Question:

Reporter: "Do you keep up with the Buffy comics?"

Whedon: "Well I write them."
"Kickboxing. Sport of the future."

That reporter shouldn't be allowed in the room with a genius like Whedon.

He does seem totally approachable. It's because of his forehead which is perfectly proportional to his face and his smooth skin and elegant hands.

For the approachable Whedon comment... I read this at a sight for an author I like (who like many of us is a whedon addict) and won a spot for her husband and herself at a dinner with him. It is all about how approachable he really is, oh and it briefly talks about Fillion and some of the other actors from firefly (from whedon's perspective of course).

Strikeouts are boring - besides that, they're fascist.  Throw some ground balls.  More democratic.

24-Movie Trailer
This is supposed to be a 2h prequel to season 7, apparently set in Africa.
It's fascinating to see that Jack Bauer has now been tortured on all continents and that Jon Voight is finally accepting TV-paychecks as well.
