Corndog, if I get you I promise to dictate something both sci-fi and romantic.

Anyone interested in taking part in a round of a book dictator club (in anticipation of the upcoming Top 100 Books list) should check in over here.

Hello, all
I'm back to these forums after an absence of several years, with a new user profile (couldn't even remember my old one, tried everything to recover it). I came back for the MDC which I loved so much; I hope to get in for October. See you soon...

Possibly, I could recover your old profile, if I had the right info.  If you really want it, pm me and I'll try.

Anybody interested in a March MDC??

We seem to have a lot going on right now, so I'm not sure if there is much interest in participating.  Let me know if there is, and I will set up a thread.

Anybody interested in a March MDC??

I was wondering what thoughts were on this. Perhaps MDC has become an outdated business model for this particular group of film lovers. Would love to hear from someone interested in this and not the Communal Watchlist Group Marathon or Martin's new Top 100 Club, but for me those 2 plus my Mega Watchlist make it silly for me to also do an MDC, List of Shame or Far East Bracket on top.

Yeah, I was thinking with everything we have going on, if it's something we should put on hold for a while, maybe bring it back at a later date, maybe not.  It just seems like every month there are less and less participants.

Bring it back for Filmspots! I will literally always participate when it is for Filmspots and/or animated films.

I guess it depends how many movies you watch and how hard it may be to seek out something unplanned. I like MDC because even though the success rate isn't as high as other selection methods it gets me to watch stuff I wouldn't otherwise and I appreciate the variety. To me one random movie a month isn't any kind of impediment to participating in other marathons, the top 100 club and other personal watchlist endeavours.

In short if you put MDC up, I'll participate. But I have noticed the dwindling number of participants lately, so I understand the hesitation.
