voting will open sometime around mid July until mid/late August.
Give Jeanne Dielman a chance, push voting back until at least the day before Labor Day, if not mid September.

No real point. The Criterion is coming out in late August.
Exactly, so push it back into September so there's time for renters.

Because tons of people will rush to the stores to buy this art house film  and then watch it for 3 hours movie and declare it one of the best ever made. I envision those Transformers DVD sales being smashed on August 25th.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

How does this sound to you guys?  You'll be able to submit a ballot of upto 100 movies, using this scale:

81-100 = 2 points
61-80 = 4 points
41-60 = 6 points
31-40 = 8 points
21-30 = 10 points
11-20 = 12 points
6-10 = 13 points
5-2 = 14 ponts
1 = 15 points

I think that gives a healthy mix of points towards the top of the ranking, but doesn't hurt the ones at the bottom of the rankings too much.

It's open to suggestion of course, but I think that's the route I'll be going down.

I think it is the best of all possible tallies.  Wow-- a lot of work is going into this!

Maybe the #1 film should have a little bit more of a kick to it than just 1 point more than 2-5? Picking a #1 is kind of a big deal.

I agree with the norse god.
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

I thought about that, but I don't want the whinging disagreements if a few people put LiT as their (deserved) number 1 and it places 'too high' on the list.

I'm pretty sure there's no way to avoid the whining.  The trick is to embrace it.

I'm really looking forward to expanding my Top 20 to a Top 100 — just to see what it'll look like.

Me too.  Now I don't feel like I need to limit it to 1 film per director.
