But I wish the public could, in the midst of its pleasures, see how blatantly it is being spoon-fed, and ask for slightly better dreams.

One of my favorite young directors. Can't wait for Pineapple Express.

He's definitely one of my fave young directors out there.  George Washington is a masterpiece.  Loved the look of it and its poetic nature.  It's the best Malick has never made and Green definitely takes Malick's style and brings it down home to the South.  It's a honest yet dreamy portrait.  I'm from the South and it never looked so beautiful.

All the Real Girls is second and a near-masterpiece.  My favorite shot in that movie has this great shot of Paul Schneider and Zooey Deschanel looking at the mountains.  Wow.  It's a more conventional film than GW but the approach to the love story and character development makes it so enjoyable to watch.

I dig Undertow.  I liked that film a lot.  I loved its energy.  The ode to 70s exploitation film from its opening credits.  It's his most stylized film in terms of its editing and cinematography.  It was very dirty and hot.  It's a Southern film at its purest form.  The scene where the boys are messing around chiggers (mosquito-like creatures in Savannah) is so real.  I enjoyed it.

Snow Angels I haven't seen yet and I want to this before I go see Pineapple Express which I know is going to be a blast.

I anticipate whatever he's up to next.  I know he's got a project called Goat with Emile Hirsch he's supposed to do.  I don't know if it's his next film.  I'm looking forward to it.  He's definitely a voice that's needed in American cinema.

I enjoy reading the reviews Roger Ebert gives him.  He's probably in that rare club with Werner Herzog of directors he loves.
