I do what I can.

It's also a nice way to look back to movies I have watched that might have faded from memory or that were directed by the same person without me realising it.

Your Highness: 4/10
Sara: Good-bye, father Isak. Can't you see you're the one I love? Today, tomorrow and forever.
Isak Borg: I'll keep that in mind.

Updated Rankings

Joe
* * * - Okay

Much of the style is Malick lite, but there's a crime element to the film that reminded me more of Jeff Nichols. It's great to see Nicolas Cage being excellent again, but he gets upstaged by Gary Poulter, a homeless man cast by Green to play Tye Sheridan's father, a terrible person who becomes more despicable the more the film reveals about him.

Stronger
* * * - Good

Another fine performance by Jake Gyllenhaal as Jeff Bauman, who lost his legs during the Boston Marathon bombing and my introduction to Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), who lives up to her reputation. What's most interesting however, is the direction which spends a considerable amount of time with others talking about Jeff while he quietly reacts to all the frustration and stress. Also starring Miranda Richardson, unrecognizable as Jeff's mother.

I've only seen Snow Angels and I don't know if I want to see any more. Hearing that people consider his early films Malickesque just makes me not want to watch his movies. I'd rather rewatch Malick.
