I love, love, love Little Big Man.  But, Bonnie and Clyde is one of the greatest movies ever made.

I've only seen Little Big Man and The Miracle Worker, both of which I liked. I really need to see Bonnie and Clyde!

What's that I hear? Could it be? Yes, yes it is! It uncommunus reactionitis, more commonly known as the unpopular movie opinion!

I don't like Bonnie and Clyde. There, I said it. I blame it partially on it's loss of "ground breaker" status. When released, one of the key points of Bonnie and Clyde was its (for the time) shocking violence, as well as how effectively it weaved the violence into the narrative. But now, it's not that shocking. I can look back at it and say "Well, it was the first," but it just doesn't seem special to me. Also, I've always felt Faye Dunaway is hit or miss. She can be brilliant (Network, Chinatown) and she can be unwatchable (Mommie Dearest). She doesn't stoop to her Joan Crawford levels here, but I still didn't buy her. Finally, and this might just be a symptom of some southern phobia I didn't know I had, but the score didn't do anything for me. I wish I could articulate it better, but it just got on my nerves (Side note: I hate this argument. I once heard somebody use the same argument against the score for The Third Man, which I absolutely love. But that's really all I can chalk my dislike of the score up to). On the other hand, I do have to say I loved Estelle Parsons in the film. She really deserved that Oscar she got.

Only other movie I've seen of Penn's is Little Big Man, which I also wasn't fond of. Unfortunately I haven't seen The Miracle Worker, can't comment on that. So I went with "Don't Like Any I've Seen."
