Maybe pix just wants to make the resurrection process as difficult as possible?
Actually, because there are so many unknown factors here (nobody really knows which films are supposed to be the 'great' ones, at least not all of them), I don't expect to put a limit on the resurrections this round. I'll let through anything that approaches greatness (in my eyes, anyway). Then, in the next round, the top-seeded films will be readjusted so that those films don't continue to be at a disadvantage.

That makes sense. To that end, designing the first round matchups around some kind of familiarity index would be more helpful, wouldn't it? Having the famous films/directors/stars going up against the more obscure works. If the lesser known film wins, then it's a true upset, and all the lesser known films would get themselves watched (I can foresee us running low on participants when all that's left are matchups between obscure films, especially if we keep matching up all the Gong Li films against each other (Concubine vs. Temptress Moon?!?))
Anyway, since you've not put a limit on the number of resurrections after this round, most of my whining is pointless. I am having fun, we're all awesome, group hug.
