Okay, let's start seeding for round two.

Below is the list of 155 films that have advanced to the second round (or still have their first round matchups pending).  Please copy this list into a private message to me, delete the films you haven't seen (or don't remember), and then group the remaining films into the following four categories:

I. Great
II. Good
III. Fair
IV. Mediocre/Poor

Simple enough, I hope.  :)

By the way: I still have the votes that were submitted at the start of the bracket, so if you just want to vote on the films you've seen since then, that's fine.  If you want to revote on everything, that's fine, too.

Country Teachers (He Qun, 1994, China)

From memory, I thought you would have had Country Teachers in the Great group and Christmas in August in the Fair group.

pixote

Time has really changed how I think of some of these films.

In the case of Christmas in August vs The Contact, both those films have stuck with me in a big way. I'm surprised by how fondly I think of them, considering that at the time I was not hugely moved by either. And now I find myself wanting to revisit them both. And I suspect that if I did I might actually change the outcome. I don't second guess most of my calls in this bracket, but that one often pops into my head and nags at me.

Country Teachers I need to see again to confirm my strong feelings. I've sort of forgetten what I loved about it (though I'm sure there's something). It's a lot like Not One Less, only better (iirc).

A few films in that Good category are kind of on the cusp of Fair. But they are certainly better than the films I have in Fair now, so I don't feel they deserve the demotion.
