What you said earlier about RocknRolla. There's some early gem performance form Tom Hardy and Toby Kebbel in there amongst the Gerard Butlers. Isn't Idris in there too? And Mark Strong  ;D It isn't at all coherent as a thriller but still some good stuff.

What makes Snatch that much better than Smoking Barrels in your mind ?

Focus. Smoking Barrells has music montages in between bouts of good dialogue. Snatch minimizes the montages and gives more time for dialogue. Plus, Brad Pitt is awesome in Snatch.

Granted for Pitt, but the performances I remember the most are Statham's, who I always love in comedies when he has this kind of role.

Lock Stock is better because it is more clever when you demand more from it. You can let them both wash over you but rewatches of Lock Stock reveal new favourite characters and scenes and minor plots and lines every time.

I agree about Lock Stock rewarding re-watches through character, but it's why the music montages - drinking and partying with slick speed ramps - bother me more each time. So one cancels out the other.
