I'm not as dismissive of Arsenal as a lot of the pundits are but the way Arsene is casually throwing away the league start every year is almost criminal.
Not sure what to make of Liverpool based on this game. Mané looks awesome but I'm not sure the team composition is actually any better than last year. Which may be fine, considering there is no Europa League.

I am John's total lack of surprise. Bigmouth strikes again.

I wonder if any team, in the history of sport, has had as strong a divide between begin good against top teams and bad against bottom teams as Liverpool this season.

Since I know nothing about soccer, this may be an old story retold, but I really enjoyed listening to WNYC's podcast, American Fiasco. The narrator is fun too. He's from Men in Blazers. I've read since hearing the podcast that people hate his accent and narration, but I loved it, thought it added immensely to the listening experience. Oh well, I hear "accents" all day long so I'm dead to it now.
