Lol. I haven't seen it, but I think I'll avoid it. It just sounds annoying :)

edit: omg, I just check to see if it was on my list. It's in the mail right now. I guess I will be watching it haha.
I just wanna know what noff thought of it, cos this was the last comment. Especially 7-years-later-noff.

Haha, he surely would hate it. :P

Outside of listening to the show, I don't follow film closely. So, it's not an unusual experience for me to be blindsided by an incredible movie "discovery"--The Squid and the Whale is an example--only to find out later that the move has a large, previously unknown to me, following.

I saw Funny Games at work on a movie channel. We thought it was a standard sado-thriller. I later heard Adam describing it as some kind of masterpiece. My mind was blown. If I'd heard Adam's description first, I've had hated it too. As I hadn't, I found it OK.

And as to the original question: No, that distinction belongs to Antichrist.

I don't know how large of a following The Squid and the Whale has but it is a top 2 or 3 film for me. I am pretty sure if I asked all my friends which most watch quite a few films, none would have heard of it though probably it is very well known here.  But people that is not a normal representative of the population

Michael Haneke even mentions in an interview that if his FUNNY GAMES project is a success, then he has failed.

I love this film. Very dark and experimental. I laughed my ass off when the kid died.

What kind of success? Financial? Critical? Personal?

Oh, No! I guarantee he'd be honored.  That movie hits everyone differently, but its not like he gave less effort on the project. He wouldn't have made two versions of it, otherwise  ;D
