I am all over this. The results will be completely unpredictable. Unlike the film list I couldn't name one book that will definitely make the top ten

I'd put BIG money on Lord of the Rings.

I'd also put money on Austen, probably Pride and Prejudice.

If in six weeks it hasn't happened, I'll think about putting my hand up to organise, but not until then.

I'll organize it.  Probably the best thing would be to do a weighted scale like Wilson did with the top 100 movies because i bet this list is going to be quite diverse.  So yeah, I will do it.

Do plays count? I know poems wouldn't, and i can't imagine poetry collections would either, but there are a few major play compilations that I'd probably have on my list.

Are we doing fiction/nonfiction together?

good point meatwad. What can we send in as votes? Novels, plays, non-fiction (biographies, history, politics, science) comic books, graphic novels, etc.

This could be completely wide open.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

I think we should make it more focused, like top 100 novels or something, because if we include everything then the lists will be very diverse, and compiling a top 100 list might not be very accurate because something might be #1 just because it got 2 or 3 votes, but everything else just got 1 or 2 votes.
