PTA-Seeing as he made the second greatest film of this decade (TWBB) I'd be remiss if he wasn't on the list.
Brad Bird-The Incredibles and Ratatouille are two of the best animated films ever made.
David Fincher-I don't always think his films are that great (Panic Room anyone?) but I always admire his direction.
Paul Greengrass-The sheer fact he pulled off three of the most ridiculously complex logistical sequences of any thriller solidifies him a spot in his list. (Even though I can take or leave the Bourne films). Plus United 93 blew me away. And he's the only guy I've seen use shakey handheld well this decade.
Werner Herzog-I actually don't like Rescue Dawn but I loved the direction...besides Aguirre is awesome.
Terrence Malick-Days of Heaven is the greatest film ever. The New World is the greatest film of the decade.
Martin Scorsese-The Departed is perhaps the only film I'd watch for sheer entertainment sake...although good direction doesn't hurt either. ;) ;)
Andrew Stanton-This guy has made three of my favorite Pixar films. And WALL-E is probably my favorite Pixar film.
Wong Kar Wai-Based purely on Chungking Express. Need I say more?

I like that a lot of people are voting for Gus Van Sant.

Of course given his recent efforts, PTA is running away with this poll.
-Le Chiffre: You changed your shirt, Mr Bond. I hope our little game isn't causing you to perspire.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

I only picked nine.  I have a write in vote for Joe Wright.
