Had a great time in Virginia this weekend. The drive there was interesting because we drove a good chunk of the way there with two girls from Marshall who were going to Liberty to visit one of their brothers. We communicated between cars and even met up when we were going grocery shopping. They gave us brownies and were really nice. A fun experience. Once we were there, the rain held off, so the cold wasn't so bad since we were backpacking the whole time. Got there Friday evening and hiked to the summit of Mt. Pleasant and camped there for the night. It was really foggy Friday and you couldn't see anything, but Saturday morning was clear and the sunrise was beautiful. Then we hiked part of the Appalachian Trail on Saturday, camping on the summit of Cold Mountain. That night it got foggy again. When we awoke there was snow all around us and the fog was still there. We hiked out in the morning and got back to the car around 8:30am and drove back to Cincy. It was a lot of fun and I got some good photos. I'll come back later with some of them.
