I sort of want more people to vote for Top Gun so I'll have a good reason to watch it.

If you think of Top Gun as being in the MCU you'll love it.

You seem to have a soft spot for the style and lighter tone of the MCU films. Generally speaking, outside of those movies you seem to prefer more serious-minded dramas and a high degree of historical accuracy.

If you think of the characters in Top Gun as a rag-tag band of super heroes trying to save the day you might like it.

Plus, Iceman is in it.

I think I'd love how awkward it'd be, or how awkward it should be.

I was thinking that Maverick is Tony Stark's brother that he never talks about. Same father, and only Maverick knows the real reason why their father died. Interestingly, though the brothers won't acknowledge each other's existence, they both have a passion for flying - the need for speed - and military weapons.

Pretty sure Fox has the rights to that character right now.  :P

This was the kind of motivation I was looking for.

I hope I like more than two kinds of movies...

*he says, looking at the copy of Godfather II he was planning to rewatch*
