You seem to have a soft spot for the style and lighter tone of the MCU films. Generally speaking, outside of those movies you seem to prefer more serious-minded dramas and a high degree of historical accuracy.

If you think of the characters in Top Gun as a rag-tag band of super heroes trying to save the day you might like it.

I was thinking that Maverick is Tony Stark's brother that he never talks about. Same father, and only Maverick knows the real reason why their father died. Interestingly, though the brothers won't acknowledge each other's existence, they both have a passion for flying - the need for speed - and military weapons.
