1. Time of the Gypsies
2. Hairspray
3. Drowning by Numbers
4. Midnight Run
5. Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown

No change.

This was a busy theater-going year for me, the year I started college. Movies I can definitely remember seeing in the theater:

Imagine: John Lennon
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
A Fish Called Wanda
Talk Radio
Gorillas in the Mist
Scrooged
The Accused
Coming to America
Alien Nation
Rain Man
Betrayed
Twins
Punchline

and maybe these? I think these were all home viewings, but the memories are fuzzy...

Dead Ringers
Die Hard
Bull Durham
Bright Lights, Big City
School Daze
Working Girl

Not today (added it to HM).

P.S. Just noticed your poll edit. The US title for Kung-fu master! always makes me chuckle.

I have watched an average of 10 movies a year from 1980 to 1987, then we hit 1988 and than number goes to 20. I am not sure what happened between 1987 and 1988 but clearly momentous changes were transpiring in the world.

My Neighbour Totoro
Die Hard
Grave of the Fireflies
Who Killed Roger Rabbit

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

The Vanishing
Die Hard
A Fish Called Wanda
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
The Thin Blue Line

HM: Akira, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Hairspray, My Neighbour Totoro, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, They Live, Heathers, Beetlejuice

Saw all of the above in the cinema that year (or whatever year they turned up in cinemas here), except for Totoro.

Really must see: Grave of the Fireflies, Cinema Paradiso
