ugh. One of the worst years yet. I can't believe someone voted for Lethal Weapon 2, and that no one else voted for the Dekalog.
That's only because it wasn't there when I decided not to vote, I think.

Having not seen The Dekalog yet (that will wait for the holiday break), I knew I had to Do The Right Thing.
-Le Chiffre: You changed your shirt, Mr Bond. I hope our little game isn't causing you to perspire.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

Nice one, working the title into the post.  I love it!  It's like a pun!

Yeah I totally missed Decalogue, maybe when I get around to seeing it I'll change my vote.

No Pet Sematary?  :P

I went with Harry & Sally.

I'm not sure yet but I really wish I had watched Kiki's Delivery Service so I could vote for it.

Whoa, the Dekalog of course! How did I miss that one?

I really enjoyed The Dekalog, but... Do The Right Thing was so raw. So visceral. So powerful.

It makes me feel bad, but I have to vote where I feel.

Man, so many good movies, but it's Do the Right Thing, no contest.

When Harry Met Sally, Dekalog isn't really one film.

My personal faves:

5. sex, lies & videotape - Sex, lies & videotape: three great tastes that taste great together.

4. Do The Right Thing - "Let me tell you the story of "Right Hand, Left Hand." It's a tale of good and evil. Hate : it was with this hand that Cane iced his brother. Love: These five fingers, they go straight to the soul of man. The right hand: the hand of love. The story of life is this : static. One hand is always fighting the other hand; and the left hand is kicking much ass - I mean, it looks like the right hand, Love, is finished. But, hold on, stop the presses, the right hand is coming back. Yeah, he got the left hand on the ropes, now, that's right. Oh, it's the devastating right and Hate is hurt, he's down - Left-Hand Hate K.O-ed by Love."

3. Parenthood - "Since then he's been slappin' the salami, no offense..... apparently he's goin' for a world record.... anyway, uh,  he was afraid there was somethin' wrong with him, like he was a pervert or somethin'. I told him 'That's just what little dudes do. We've all done it'."
"... you need a license to buy a dog or drive a car, hell you need a license to catch a fish! But they'll let any butt-reamin' @sshole be a father."

2. Glory - "And what are you? So full of hate you just wanna go out and fight everybody. 'Cause you been whipped and chased by hounds. Well, that may not be livin', but it sure as hell ain't dyin'. And dyin's what these white boys been doin' for goin' on three years now. Dyin' by the thousands, dyin' for you, fool. I know 'cause I dug they graves. . . .
The time's comin' when we gonna have to anti-up. Anti-up and kick in like men.... LIKE MEN!"

1. The Abyss - Close Encounters Of The Under-Water Kind. Personally, as a sci-fi nerd, I think this is a James Cameron masterpiece, with it's two stories in one. The alien storyline crossed over with the tension that builds with the crew & the SEAL team. And both plots comes off as very well executed. I think that this movie suffered from the edited version that originally  released in theatres, which is too bad, because the uncut version is what truly revealed just how great this  movie really is.
"Criticism is the laziest form of expression ."

- some deep dude.
