Deadwood
« on: December 13, 2008, 12:44:38 AM »
I recently discovered a television series called Deadwood, which is set in the 1870s in Deadwood, South Dakota. It's a lot of fun, if somewhat vulgar. Has anyone else watched this show before and what did you think of it?
-Le Chiffre: You changed your shirt, Mr Bond. I hope our little game isn't causing you to perspire.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

Man, I've meant to watch Deadwood since it first started on HBO but somehow never got to it.  I've got copies of all 3 seasons and I'm pretty sure I'll love the show but I'm not sure when I'll get to watching it (maybe after I get caught up on Filmspots stuff?)

Deadwood isn't somewhat vulgar; it's downright vulgar, but deliciously so.  We loved it.  When you step away from the vulgarity, you see the brilliance of the script.  Those actors sure give some incredible line readings!

I love Deadwood.  The first season is the best one in my opinion.

I heart Calamity Jane. She needs a spin-off.

Until HBO killed it.

Did all that talk about a movie (I don't remember if it was for TV or theatrical) die?

Him: Abominable performance, ugh. I hated him in Dexter too.
Her: great interpretation of the character

Him: Mostly boring performance but walks like the grim reaper (eek, very intimidating)
Her: Horrible, horrible actress.

Him: How could you possible not love this guy?
Her: Very effective character, great character arc

Him: Nasty fella, perfectly cast.
Her: She's great! I'm so happy she got more and more screen time. Much love for the gimp!

Without a doubt the most fun I’ve had with a character all year. Absolutely fantastic!
