Good stuff. I should reread that at some point.

Considering how many names I seem to have managed to remember, so should I...

Nice. :)

I just bought
.

There's a group of students from my Intro to British Literature class from last quarter who wanted to keep reading together and so they officially formed a Lit Club at the college and asked me to be their faculty adviser. Such a fun group of students, great weekly discussions. They/we just finished reading and discussing 1984, and at our next meeting we'll be watching the Michael Radford film with John Hurt.

After that, they decided on Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (which I've never read - looking forward to it!), and we'll have to watch Blade Runner, of course, as well. :)

Oh god. We spent 1h30 of a 3h Power and Politics class watching 1984 in full to illustrate whatever the teacher's assistant's point was. It's a good movie but it was the most shameful waste of class time I ever witnessed.
I do hope you'll have more fun watching it than I did.

It's a student led club (though they want me to be there - and I'm happy to be) - and they're a great, inquisitive, engaged group - so I'm sure the viewing/discussion will be fun. They're particularly curious to see and discuss changes between book and film - but other than that, there's no teacher's assistant agenda. ;)
