As much as I love Groundhog Day, I think Unforgiven is the #1 choice here.

Dang. I should have voted more sneakily.

Or voted Beauty and the Beast.

Eighteen voters so far (including me), with two films seeming to pull away from the pack.

I think I'd love how awkward it'd be, or how awkward it should be.

I really hope those are Beauty and Unforgiven.

I really hope those are Beauty and Unforgiven.

I had hoped to rewatch Beauty before voting, but there's been a long wait for it at the library for a while .  So I just put it first on my ballot in the hope that it's as good as I remember.

no way, pretty sure it's gotta be                 and
But I wish the public could, in the midst of its pleasures, see how blatantly it is being spoon-fed, and ask for slightly better dreams.

I assure you, it's probably better than you remember.

So the way this is going to work is that I'm going to use average percentile ranking to order the films.  Then I'll work from bottom to top pitting the films against each other:  Film 27 vs. Film 26, then the winner of that vs. Film 25, etc.  To determine the winner of each pairing, I'll look at the ballots than ranked both films and see which film the majority had ranked higher.  (There's a good chance that Film 1 will win ... but where's the mock-drama [and the post-whoring] in that?)

All this is another way of saying: If you only rank the films you like and don't bother to rank the films you don't like, you could be hurting your own cause.

If my list seemed short, that's because I simply haven't seen the unlisted films.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.
