1990s US Bracket: Final Resurrection
« on: February 05, 2009, 01:05:54 PM »
Below are the twenty-nine films eligible for resurrection, pending the outcome of the last two third round verdicts (which involve the four films in blue).  To vote for which one film gets resurrected, send me a private message ranking the list of films below in order of preference.  You don't have to include every film in your ranking.  If you haven't seen a film or don't remember it well enough to have an opinion on, you probably shoudn't rank it.

American History X
Barton Fink
Beauty and the Beast
Black Is...Black Ain't
Contact
Dead Man
Edward Scissorhands
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
The Fisher King
The Fugitive
Groundhog Day
The Insider
The Joy Luck Club
The Lion King
Malcolm X
My Voyage to Italy
Pi
Serial Mom
Singles
Sling Blade
Starship Troopers
Swingers
Tombstone
Trust
Unforgiven
The Usual Suspects
The Virgin Suicides
Wayne's World
When We Were Kings

You don't have to wait until the end of the third round to send me your lists.  You can send them now if you want and I'll just ignore the two films that end up winning those last matchups.

I think it's only fair that you have to have completed at least one verdict in the first three rounds in order to be able to vote for this last resurrection.  The fourth round will definitely be open to newcomers, however.

edit: This is a preferential voting system (of sorts), so you really want to rank all the films that you can.  If you just list one film, you're not really helping that film at all because you haven't named any films that you prefer it over.  The more films you rank, the better you express your preferences between them.  (That said, please don't rank films you haven't seen or don't remember well enough to rank.  That'd be uncool, generally.)

Beauty and the Beast. Seriously. Better than all of those. Followed by Unforgiven.

Just a note:  This is a preferential voting system (of sorts), so you really want to rank all the films that you can.  If you just list one film, you're not really helping that film at all because you haven't named any films that you prefer it over.  The more films you rank, the better you express your preferences between them.

I don't think any of these films need ressurection. Wheres Miller's Crossing, at least that would have a chance of doing well. Unless someone really loves The Lion King I'd be happy to see the back of all these

Ten ballots in!  This is fun.

Something's coming back, so you might as well vote, right?

Which films haven't you seen, by the way?  Maybe one of those is worthy...
