Heh. If more people who hate Hal Hartley films had watched more Hal Hartley films, Unforgiven would still be alive!
That's the key question, I guess, for the Filmspots as well as this: whether the people that tend to see a film like
Trust (or
Still Life) are more predisposed to like a film like that, meaning their votes don't project well across more general viewership. With both systems, I've tried to take that into consideration as best I could, but until those unknown factors get challenged (i.e., more people see the films), it's always going to come down to a best guess.
