Welcome, Jerry!
Woot for more 30+'s!
Also, Belize as in the Belize in Central America? If so, cool. And what was your trip like? I visited there when I was only 5, but I have some pretty vivid memories. (My uncle owned a resort and orange grove there, and he kept bees.) I remember snorkeling, I remember being in the jungle and seeing banana trees, I remember my uncle's parrots that he trained to cackle and laugh whenever anyone walked by, I remember the taste of the honey - honey from tropical flowers is pretty amazing.
Belize was amazing! I actually stayed on Caye Caulker but I did take one day and go inland for a jungle river tour to the Maya ruins of Lamanai. I did a lot of snorkeling, eating fresh fish, and relaxing. I would definitely go back. Oh, and if you ever decide to go back stay at Maxhapan Cabanas. It's a small property run by a woman named Louise who really takes care of her guests. $50 a night gets you a private cabana with a hammock, a veranda, and she supplies you with free bottled water and bikes every day.
Wow, that sounds fantastic! I would love to go back sometime. What are flight prices like?
Depends on when you look to go. I went the first week of July. My flight schedule looked like this: Chicago to Atlanta (switch planes), Atl to Belize City, stayed a week, Belize City to Atl (switch planes), Atl to Denver, stayed for 4 days, Denver to Minneapolis (switch planes), Minn to Chicago. The 3 layovers weren't bad since they weren't very long. I got that trip for $500 which is really cheap. I just looked into flights for next Feb and March, however, and prices were pushing towards $1,000. That is the height of tourist season though. I think you just need to keep your eye out and try Expedia, Orbitz, etc.
