It's sometimes fun when they have an interview with a star or director about their new film, but then afterwards the presenter says something like "Tom Hanks' stars in Charlie Wilson's War, out this week, and while it is a sharp and enjoyable satire, it does leave somewhat an empty feeling of unfinished business" - ie a blatant presenter bias AGAINST the film the star was promoting...

:D That's really funny. I wonder how actors themselves feel sometimes when they have to go out and promote a film that they probably know is not very good.

I never understood why actors go and promote their films (unless it's in the contract). They got paid for their acting, I don't know if they really get any additional money for the film until it gets put onto TV syndication. I understand some acting gigs are just done so an actor can eat/live, which is fine, but don't fake sell it to me.

since i was prodded ;)

I'm Keith, 27 from the Philly area.  Went to school at Pitt where i studied film along with marketing... of course i now work as a clinical researcher.  I started listening to cinecast/filmspotting when iTunes launched podcast support but since I don't read (listen to) reviews ahead of watching a film i'm often behind in the podcasts.  I've been to teh chicago film fest twice while in college, the three rivers fest in pittsburgh while in school there, the philly film fest the last 4 years and just this past year to Telluride which was one of the best experiences ever.

I have a blog called the sho'nuff to write film, music, tv reviews, post mp3s, dish on pop culture, ect.  For the past 6 or so years i've been an avid participant at www.ez1productions.com - box office type game site with a great board that picked up when the old Mr. Showbiz game was killed off by Disney.  and thats about it. look forward to getting to know a few of ya.

I like your crystal skull.  It looks like something Mrs. Howell would have had if she was either an ink fan or goth.

Oh.  And welcome!  A/S/L?  ROFLMAO!  IMHO.  BRB.  TTFN.

Welcome Keith! Alex is right, great avatar. The same image is hanging in my room because it has just been used as a poster for a production of Macbeth here in Munich. As great as the poster is, the production sadly is not. Anyway, welcome again!

Born in the city, living in Langhorne (bucks county).

The skull was an art piece by Damian Hirst that was sold for a rediculous amount of cash (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damien_Hirst) and was releases right around the same time that they came out with the Jones title - so now I'm like positioned... or whatever with like the best possible net avatar for when the movie comes out.
