By far Nausicaa for me, with Princess Mononoke a very close second.

Now that don't make a lick a sense.

Actually, I completely agree with Nausicaa-- honestly, I've never understood people's love of Princess Mononoke.  PM is the Miyazaki film I first saw, and I almost never saw another.  Then I saw Spirited Away-- probably my favorite film of all time and then I had to see the rest.  But I can't really choose easily between Spirited Away and Nausicaa.

But between PM and N-- no contest!  Nausicaa is about cooperation between nature and humanity, while PM is just about what damage each can do to the other.  N's main character is in search of truth and treats her enemies with kindness, while PM's main character is out for revenge.  But, most of all, Nausicaa is set against a complex background of an elaborately and facinatingly created fantasy world, while PM's world is half thought out.  PM might be more visually stunning and more action sequences, but Nausicaa is more fulfilling over all.  And also, it has the much longer manga to read if you want to really understand Miyazaki's philosophy of life and nature.  Just wonderful.

Surely someone else would vote for Howl's Moving Castle

Am I the only one who has seen Porco Rosso? It kicks so much ass.

The only one I haven't seen is the Lupin one.

the only way Mononoke would not get my vote in this poll, is if miyazaki had made Magnolia. Which he did not.
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.
