Filmspotting 4th Anniversary
« on: February 23, 2009, 03:17:31 PM »
The 3/6 show will mark 4 years of Filmspotting... first show was 3/6/05. We feel like that top 5 should commemorate the show somehow, but also not be total navel-gazing. Or at least navel-gazing that produces an interesting list. Got any good ideas?

Top 5 Filmspotting Bricks - The five best movies you saw because of the show. Brick is pantheon, obviously.

But didn't they do that for episode 200?

How about the top 5 pantheon movies, the movies that if they are put unto the list, they go into the pantheon. We want All That Jazz gone Adam Kempenaar!
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

Swear, first thing I suggested to Matty... but with Brick meaning something different -- like we mean it now, the top 5 'under-appreciated' movies (little gems) we have/want to champion.

We did Discoveries for episode #200.

Top 5 'I think that if I watched it again, I'd have a vastly different reaction (like it now/dislike it now)'
-Le Chiffre: You changed your shirt, Mr Bond. I hope our little game isn't causing you to perspire.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

Please. Be naval-gazing. False modesty is so 2007.

Top 5 Anniversary Movies (Can be extended to birthday, memorial, and wedding movies)
Top 5 Cast Replacements in the Sequel (Pretty limited ground here, but it'd be a nice thumbed nose at Sam)
Top 5 Growing Pains Movies
Top 5 Radio or Commentator Movies (Network is retired, right?)
Top 5 Beer Drinking Movies (I think you guys have commented before that sometimes Filmspotting is like having beers with friends...You might have done this one already.)
Top 5 Wind-bags (It's all jokes. You know how I hate smilies or winkies.)
Top 5 Lonely Guys (I guess this more for Matty)
Top 5 Flashbacks

Oooo, you could get all meta and do Top 5 Naval Gazes ... The best self-conscious performances by a director or actor.
