Agreed.
The film has its problems, but he really burns down our history with him and is genuinely creepy.

Great pick!  Really enjoyed this movie...

I liked Robin Williams in the underrated Insomnia even more.  Not sure why this was so forgotten a movie?  (maybe it wasn't in these parts?)

But here's my list:
5-Robin Williams in Insomnia
4-Adam Sandler in Punch Drunk Love
3-Michael Keaton in The Paper
2-Albert Brooks in Broadcast News
1-Roberto Benigni in Life is Beautiful

Honorable mention
Bill Murray in Lost in Translation
Steve Martin in Grand Canyon
Robin Williams in Dead Poet's Society
Jim Carrey in Man on the Moon

By the way, should this be called the "Tom Hanks memorial list"- he did get his start on Bosom Buddies after all!

But he wasn't a stand up comedian or in sketch comedy.  He was a comic actor.

I'm pretty sure he did stand up.

Oh dang!  I really should read directions first!  Now that I've looked back I notice I have two penalty box suggestions as well! :o

I just looked it up.  If you trust what you read on Wikipedia (and who wouldn't?  ;) ) his only experience doing stand up was a brief stint when preparing for Punchline

Didn't Williams study at Julliard before going into stand-up?
