I just finished watching it for the second time and wanted to come start a thread here for it. Luckily someone has already done the job.
A lot of this movie should come off as corny but it almost never does. And some of the scenes (a lot of them mentioned here already) are just the most amazingly moving scenes that no one ever mentions. I think this movie is criminally underseen. It's not perfect, but I think it deserves to be in the same conversation that movies like The Sweet Hereafter or the Ice Storm are. (You know, all those offbeat, excellent, heavy but not stifling movies based on novels conversations you have)
It's on Netflix instant right now. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out. It's pretty great.
