Actually, I usually watch on DVD: I've seen more movies in the theatre this year than for for than a decade.  So just a few to judge (five star rating):
(modified list)

1. Syneceche, New York ****1/2
2. Up ****1/2
3. Sita Sings The Blues ****
4. Star Trek ****
5. Coroline ****
6. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince ***
7. Monsters v. Aliens ***

I'm tempted to put Ponyo on the Cliffs By Sea Sea next to Up, but since I haven't seen it yet, I suppose that can't really count.  Doesn't anticipation count for something?

9. The Girlfriend Experience (B)

Is that the lowest you've ever rated a Soderbergh film?

I don't think I saw a lot this year.

I'm counting Febuary as the cutoff point between this year and last.

1.Synecdoche, New York
2.Let the Right One in
3.Coraline
4.Wendy and Lucy
5.In The Loop
6.Il Divo
7.Watchmen
8.Sita Sings The Blues
9.the Dmaned United
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

Nope. Solaris got a B-. Ocean's Thirteen also got a B.

One of these days I'm going to see a movie from 2009.

I could say almost the same thing - only 3 from this year so far  :(:

Up - B+
Anvil!: The Story of Anvil - B+
Stranded: I've Come from a Plane That Crashed on the Mountains - B+
Synecdoche, New York - A-/B+

(Both Up and Anvil! have moments that make me think I should grade them A-, but I'll be conservative for now.)

Anyone know off-hand what (if any) other 2009 movies besides Stranded are available on Netflix Instant Watch?

I didn't even know that Stranded was on there, I also have never heard of that film either.
