You'll be glad to know this is untrue.

Oh it's over now. Everything else just dropped on my list of all things awesome and anticipatory. Tree of Life: #1. Everything else: Who cares

Oh like that's going to happen.  If anyone is aware of Malick's history with finishing films in post-production, we all know he does thing right to the end and I doubt it will be ready for 2009.

The 2009 bow is interesting since Malick is famous for long post-production periods.

Anyway, I guess that's my number 4 most anticipated film now? Maybe.

Youth in Revolt
Shutter Island
That Coen Brothers film (sorry sam)
That Malick film

Technically the only one I really anticipate is Youth in Revolt. Everything else will start hitting me as the season approaches. Basically if GVS or Satoshi Kon are not making a film I have little reason to get interested. Unless it's like Tim Burton or something, or maybe Bahrani. Actually, there are many directors who excite me and, prior to right now, Tree of Life probably was the film I most looked forward to seeing just because, despite being lukewarm with TTRL, the mystique that Malick brings to the table makes me think that seeing a film of his opening weekend on the big screen is a once in a life time type of thing.
