FYI, the whip cracking sounds in Ben-Hur were created with a hefty steak being slapped on a thigh.  Does that help?

That sounds like a middle eastern dish, like fatoosh.

It actually sounds like a highly convincing whip sound.
It could also sound like a middle eastern dish: the two aren't mutually exclusive.

Just whatever happens don't let this turn into another 'An Open letter to the hosts of Cinecast' thread.

I like it!

Lynch, what are you saying, you don't like long rambling threads with no discernable point or social benefit?

I think we may have a winner, though I still feel my 'ka TEESHHHH" captured the lingering sting of a gladiator's whip.

First let me say that I certainly don't agree with the original poster and his point of view (and the way he expressed himself), BUT to counterbalance the hardcore Filmspotting defenders here, I reluctantly have to admit that for the last 10 to maybe 15 episodes I find it increasingly difficult to concentrate on what Sam and Adam are saying. I just can't get into it anymore. Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's the movies that are being reviewed, I don't know. I'm just hoping it's temporary.

So without hiding in anonymity, and without being a newbie (I've been onboard since Cinecast #1, well #2 actually, but that one show was easy to catch up on), I do have to say that, to whatever small degree, I agree with the original poster's sentiment (as in not really liking Filmspotting that much anymore).

Again, I'm hoping it's a temporary lull (is that the correct word in this context?). I do respect the work and effort that Sam and Adam are putting into it, and I do intend to keep listening for now.

Kind regards,

Dave
