But are these films art?

He has shown in the recent pas to be incorrect about the artistic merits of video games, and he again proves to be incorrect on a large scale about 3-D. I like Ebert, but he seems like nothing more than a traditionalist too busy seeing the 'evils' of new technology, such as Hollywood and the theaters' angle, rather than the positives, of which he seems to say little if any exist. These aspects are important as consumers in relegating how the technology develops and how it enters our lives, but there seem to be added benefits to the technology that established filmmakers are embracing. These are all concerns he has stated before, and for me the only viable one is the pointlessness of the surcharge.

Sometimes I agree with Ebert about video games not being art. Then I remember Monkey Island.

He's right about a lot of the issues with 3D, but he's wrong to entirely dismiss it as bad.

The most interesting part of that article: "Werner Herzog is using 3-D to film prehistoric cave paintings in France".  Guess I'll have to give in and finally see a movie in 3-D.

For as much as I love Ebert, his thoughts on video games have always been moronic and that isn't changing as he gets older.
