Mr. Toad vs. Ichabod Crane

Some days I like the Mr. Toad segment and some days I can't really stand it, but Sleepy Hollow gives the first hints that Disney Animation is about to return to glory.

For me it's the Ichabod segment without question. Mr. Toad bored me to tears, from both a storytelling and animation perspective it wasn't interesting and it felt like old hat. Ichabod didn't start off the strongest, but once he hits the Hollows, the story is all kinds of cool and the animation is stellar.

Ichabod.  I watch it every Halloween, I love the Bing Crosby narration.

Ichabod possesses the film's highest points, though it also possesses far and away the lowest as well. Plus it's much more of a story than a film and is far more alienating than engrossing, so much so that I felt I'd be better off reading than watching. However, nostalgia obligates me to pick Sleepy Hollow.

Mr. Toad is, for all intents and purposes, much more consistent and engrossing, not to mention a better film, but I'm more inclined to say I prefer something that has already stood up to multiple repeat viewings than I am to take a film that I have now only just finished watching.

Love them both, but I have always enjoyed Mr. Toad a bit more.
What? What are you talking about? It's girls and spaghetti. We love girls and spaghetti.
