74. Death Proof (Quentin Tarantino; 2007)
One Tarantino and this is it? Hello :)

Absolutely. Dramatically underrated film. I think that after a few years when everyone forgets their initial expectations, Death Proof will come into its own. Pulp Fiction did come close to my list, but Death Proof edges it out as my favorite Tarantino. I am surprised however that it took as long as it did for someone to say something about it. I'm well aware how poor regarded the film is, but I was determined for that not to dissuade me.

I thought it was a great film too. Although I think I liked first because of the experience of seeing it with the fake trailers and Planet Terror and secondly because of the quality. I won't hate.

I think it'll be a good 20 spots higher on my list.

Nice list. Brave putting a few Keaton and no Chaplin on there. Going on the screenshot alone I want to see Mishima.
Was that Keaton in some kind of Chaplin disguise in The Gold Rush?

Yeah thanks for bringing my attention to that.

Yes we can!  Yes we can!

My 'just missed out' list is even longer than that — and yet we have almost no overlap.  In fact, The Crowd was the only common title I noticed at first glance.  But about three or four of the titles you listed will actually make my Top 100.

Do some of my missed outs make it into your top 100?

Ha, you were too fast.  I edited my above post to add that in.  About three or four.

Oh, and a second title that I think is going to just miss out on my list: Annie Hall.  That seems wrong, though.  Going to have to think carefully about that.

Ruh roh, my file is now missing my final dozen borderline titles.  That sucks.

Just missed outs, in particular order:

Currently in mine:

Orphée
The Wages of Fear
Killer of Sheep
Ferris Beuller's Day Off
Sweet Smell of Success
The Apartment

Could end up making it:

Ivan the Terrible 1+2
The Magnificent Ambersons
Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors

I love this film, but if Daytrippers doesn't make it then this definitely isn't:

Flirting With Disaster
"When in doubt, seduce."
