Loving your reviews, smirnoff. I'm a lot more interested in checking out Persepolis and especially The Sky Crawlers now (looks gorgeous).
Thanks, and I hope you do get a chance to see 'em. I'd be really interested to get hear your thoughts on it.

I'm looking to watch these for my next batch:
Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm
Metropolis
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie
Heavy Metal
Barefoot Gen
Fantastic Planet
The Hunchback Of Notre Dame

Sidenote: I'm curious to see if the animated films on the general Top 100 all come the top of the Animated Top 100 list.

Almost... Here's the top 5 of the animated top 100 vs. the 2009 top 100

5. Mononoke-hime (Princess Mononoke, 1997) -- 43rd
4. The Iron Giant (1999) -- 236th
3. Sen To Chihiro No Kamikakushi (Spirited Away, 2001) -- 66th
2. WALL·E (2008) -- 31st
1. Hotaru No Haka (Grave Of The Fireflies, 1988) -- 93rd

A bit of a scramble... I'm not quite sure what to make of it.

And those were the only 4 animated films to make the 2009 top 100.

And those were the only 4 animated films to make the 2009 top 100.

Plus one:

7. Tonari No Totoro (My Neighbor Totoro, 1988) -- 87th
6. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999) -- 473rd

Only one vote for South Park, whereas Toy Story and Finding Nemo just missed out on the main Top 100, despite finishing only 8th and 9th on the Animated one.  Different pool of voters, different scoring system.

4. The Iron Giant (1999) -- 236th

I knew something was terribly wrong with that list!

Wait, I was the only one to vote for South Park while a ton of people voted for that shitty Brad Bird film? Something is wrong with you people.
