watched a bird struggle against the wind (it's outrageously windy at the moment down here in Melbourne) for about 10 minutes until it gave up and walked the 50 metres to it's nest.

Trying to pull off the switch?  A la Seinfeld?  It can't be done :)

and no interest or intention to try anything of the sort :)
