Had five years worth of hair growth cut off my head.

Five years. Is that right, if so how long was your hair? could you sit on it?
I'm having my barnet/ears lowered/hair cut next week, just a trim and I look like my avatar.

Beards are where it's at.

Yup, got one of those as well. Going for the Jim Morrison look circa LA Woman :o...but slimmer.

Kevin: Yes, why does there have to be evil?

Ha, no. Went a long way down the back though.

Yesterday I visited the museum of photography in Stockholm with my 17 year old who has an interest for photography. Neither of us had been there before and we didn't know what to expect. It turned out to be a true gem of a museum with really good exhibitions.

Best of all was an exhibition with pictures by the Dutch photographer Anton Corbijn, who is known for taking celebrity pictures and who also made Control and The American. I've seen neither but I fell in love with his images and also got a good liking for him as a peson after watching pieces of a documentary they ran at the museum. We bought Control to be watched soonish hopefully.

It was such an wonderful museum visit together and I think it gave Tuva a lot of inspiration for her own photo taking. One of those days to keep in the storage of Good Memories.

Re: Corbijn. His Depeche Mode videos for "Strangelove", "Never Let Me Down Again", "Behind the Wheel" define the phrase "Eurotrash" (not a perjorative) for me. Brilliant movies in their own right, and worth seeking out. I though this love of the subject and inside knowledge, gave him the "right" to tackle the thorny subject of Ian Curtis, and the way he filmed the music and had the actors play the songs was one example of him "getting" the mood & story right.

Just found the website for the Stockholm Museum, very nice. I read the other day that, Corbijn is currently on a new movie A Most Wanted Man, the le Carré novel, that seems to be a good fit.

The museum is indeed very nice!

There were three expositions going on and the other ones were as good and interesting as Corbijn (even though they didn't have the connection to film and music).

The entire museum seemed to be bursting with activities - courses, lectures etc all year round for photography enthusistas at all levels. And they had a restaurant with a stunning view over the waters of Stockholm.

The pictures were arranged beautifully with perfect light, background, plenty of space around them.

You could tell that this museum was run with equal amounts of passion, knowledge and imagination but also with a sense for business making it sustainable for the future.
What a difference it makes!

I've never heard my daughter complaining about not living in Stockholm until yesterday. She'd totally want an annual card and make the photo musuem to a place to hang out.
