:))

I just made a Spotify, "oldkid in jail" playlist! I'm going to enjoy listening to it, often.

My brothers many-years-in-the-making documentary (on the Chicago hardcore music scene) premiered last night to a full house screening at the Gene Siskel Center. I did some work on the film for him, but this is the first time I've seen it assembled. It was a fantastic experience! I love the Siskel Center, and it was surreal to see it be host to something I've been so close to for so long. The audience was very enthusiastic, and despite my general disinterest in the subject matter, I think he made a terrific movie. It was actually very insightful for me to see such a passionate portrayal of the things that made that scene so important to him and others.

That's really cool. Any chance we'll be able to see it?

Do you know what years he covers?

Yeah, he said probably not immediately but it will go online once he's done showing it around at events. I'll be sure to link it up when it does!

Do you know what years he covers?

Starting in the late eighties and leading up more or less to present day. He dug pretty deep, finding all kinds of rare footage from old shows and stuff, and had pretty incredible access to just about everyone he cared to interview, so it's about as comprehensive as you could expect.

Cool! I'll check it out when he puts it up. At the very least it'll be a good way to erase the memory of the awful Chicago punk documentary "You Weren't There" from a few years ago!!!
