I took that exact same screenshot (I mean, how could you not?!)! It is a great-looking film, I enjoyed it a lot.

Do I need to see them all in order?
Yes (even though you really don't need to).

I'm also assigning this to myself because it seems like a potentially underrated Coen Bros movie
It totally is.

Hey, so I guess this is for Nedmeier. I'm gonna give you... Stalker! (To be specific, the 1979 science fiction film by Andrei Tarkvosky since I imagine its a common title.) And it is on Netflix so should be easy to get ahold of. Umm... if you've seen it I can supply an alternate, too, since it would be more fun to do a film you haven't seen.

Welcome dustin and Stalker sounds great. I loved Solaris but it is the only Tarkovsky film I've seen so I'm excited.

pix, i've been having trouble thinking of a good film for you, i would have loved for you to check Doyle's work in Downloading Nancy (and the film, too, of course), but since that is in highly limited release and not due for dvd until Dec, i have been toying with the idea of dictating either Paranoid Park or Milk, both films i know you like, and i thought it would be fun for you to revisit just for the visual analysis.  BUT, as i was thinking about my august dictation from verite - Fruit of Paradise - and wondering what the hell to write about it, i thought it might be fun to let you have a go at it.  as long as you haven't already seen it, go that way young one.  otherwise, i think i'll revert to van sant for you.

if Chytilova it is, enjoy:

Just picked up La Mala Educacion from the library today. It looks pretty weird, but a dictation is a dictation. Seems fitting that THATguy would give me this after dictating Closer to me as well. No more preconceived notions though, I plan to watch it tonight, because I probably won't get to it this weekend, but we shall see.

Oh, and on the top it says R-rated version...is this a good or a bad thing?
