Good one HH. Idk, I think I would've been okay with Sarah Polley.

Here's some that come to mind for me:
Selma Blair in Hellboy
Orlando Bloom in Kingdom of Heaven
Hayden Christensen in everything but Broken Glass
Dennis Hopper in Speed
Ice Cube in Three Kings
Kurt Russell in Tombstone
What?  I think he is great in Three Kings.

I wouldn't call the movie great, and the film has problems existing way beyond this(it's my least favorite Scorsese film), but not casting Cameron Diaz in "Gangs Of New York" would have helped a tad. Especially painful is that Scorsese wanted Sarah Polley.    :-\

That was one of the weak elements about that film.  Though I think Cameron Diaz can act when she wants to, it's hard to take her seriously in a part.  I would've preferred Sarah Polley as well.

I might be alone in this, but I think Cameron Diaz was also miscast in Being John Malkovich. I assume she was trying to go against her type, but she's much better when she's just being the pretty girl.

1-5: Tim Robbins in High Fidelity

His greatest role.

I'm all the way with roujin on this one. Tim Robbins cameos are golden throughput cinema. Although I would argue his best role came in Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny

1. Scarlett Johansson - The Prestige and The Man Who Wasn't There
2. Tracie Thoms - Death Proof
3. Keira Knightley - Atonement (not a great film but a good one)
4. Laura Linney - The Squid and the Whale (not a Linney hater but I don't think she is good in the film)
5. Christian Bale - Public Enemies (not a great film but Everyone else gives a great performance)

I loved her there.  What about the casting choice bugged you?

No one would choose Tim Robbins over John Cusack. Which reminds me, John Corbett is miscast in Serendipity.

Brad Pitt in Inglorious Basterds,

Here is the thing, he is not that bad of an actor, just miscast.  He was good in Fight Club, Seven, and hilarious in 12 Monkeys, but he sucks here cause he can't do subtelty.

Inglorious Basterds is tongue and cheek but not slapstick, its funny but also serious.  The guy playing Landa can handle it, he can be joking in one moment, and deadly serious in the next.  Brad can't, he just acts goofy throughout as if it was some slapstick comedy.  He is unable to do that thing where an actor is making you laugh while still maintaining the seriousness of the film.
