I was looking through the top 5/bottom 5 critics list thread searching for someone else to read besides Ebert. To evaluate their worth I read some reviews of V for Vendetta and I now hate almost all of them. Did every critic just gang up on this film when it came out?

You're using V For Vendetta as some sort of measuring stick? Oh boy, you're not gonna be left with alot of critics (including one half of FS).

Well it is my favourite film.

I can almost see the snickers as they insert the default smarmy line about Alan Moore renouncing the movie adaptation.

Unfairly they did.  In fact, I'd avoid listening to that episode of Filmspotting because they try to be fair, but are completely wrong.

Avatar is like 100 times better than Aliens. But not as good as Alien.

My math doesn't match up with your math.

Shit, John Woo can make a historical epic. Who knew.
-Le Chiffre: You changed your shirt, Mr Bond. I hope our little game isn't causing you to perspire.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

There seems to be a lot of praise for Doubt on the boards. I may have to watch it.
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.
