The elements in that Avatar trailer look really bad ass.

EDIT: What a twist!

EDIT 2: Really, the air is bending him the whole time.

People get when something is cgi and so they dismiss it, but when it is mixed so thoroughly with something practical people are more likely to wonder how it's done because there is still a basis for the effect in reality.

True enough. And there's so many possible combinations which could achieve the same thing. LOTR was pretty great for blending different elements, as I learned through the extra features.

Between Devil Wears Prada, Doubt and Julie & Julia is it possible this is the best three roles performed one actress consecutively in the history of cinema?

I don't know about actress, but for actor that award definitely goes to John Cazale. Interestingly enough Cazale was engaged to Streep before unfortunately passing away.

True.  (oops!) This theory isn't setting well with me anyways.

I just don't want Sandra Bullock to win an Oscar this year.  That's the realy issue.

You know that's gonna happen. We've got a Julia-Roberts-Erin-Brockovich-situation here. This is Sandra Bullock's one shot at getting an Oscar and Hollywood isn't cruel enough to make Sandra Bullock cry.

Well, but Erin Brokovich was a Soderbergh film. Also, Julia Roberts can act, sort of.

Colleen, do the police really use software like this? It looks kind of impractical to me. Or maybe it's an FBI thing.

Nope.  Nor do we have computers that can not only instantly generate a map showing locations of all the victims in a crime spree, but their photos as well (the episode of Bones we watched last night severely irritated me).
